Top Banana guesthouse is located on the top floor of a building, close to independance monument, in the busy st 278. One common area is dedicated to chill, eat, drink, read, watch dvd's etc... so it's very easy to meet other travelers and people staying there.
The food is great and yet very cheap, a great change from boeng kak lake !

Number 9 Guesthouse
Edit ThisHead up to the lakeside for the cheaper backpacker hangouts. Number Nine is a pretty clean place with excellent food and cold beer, happy hour from 5-7:30. Spend a relaxed evening amid verdant greenery on the deck built out over the lake, but watch the mosquitos.
