Kampong Ayer

Kampong Ayer is the water village near Brunei. It is best to take a water taxi to this place. It offers a beautiful sight as one can see hundreds of houses that appear to float on water. You will also find the Dewan Majlis here. This is the place where the legislative assembly used to sit. One requires official permission to enter this building.

Jerudong Playground

Jerudong Playground is built on the lines of Disneyworld. Earlier the entry was free however they now charge an admission fee. The amusement park is located in a suburb and you will have to go there by taxi. The children are sure to enjoy some inventive theme rides, small toy shops and an array of stalls selling chocolates and candy floss.

Taman Peranginan Tasek

Take your children for a picnic lunch here. One can also walk and jog along the trails and parks. There is a waterfall and reservoir that is especially good during the monsoon season. One can swim in the reservoir, but women and girls must wear a t-shirt and shorts.

If your children are older, say teenagers, they will also enjoy a trip to Bangar to see the rain forest. A visit to the tropical rain forests of Southeast Asia will be enjoyable for the entire family. There are some easy treks that one can take and see the flora and fauna of the place.

Ulu Temburong National Park

This should be on the must visit list of all families that visit Brunei. You get a magnificent view of the rain forests and can see some of the most unique monkeys of this region.
