7 Day Itinerary in Bandar Seri Begawan

Bandar Seri Begawan, Capital City of Brunei is a historical city that dates back to the 7th century. Contemporary Mosques, grand museums and flourishing gardens is what this city is about.                 

 Day 1: A Trip to the Mosque  
The most inspiring place in the country is the Omar Saifuddin Mosque.  It’s open when prayers aren’t being offered. It looks spectacular at night when the dome is illuminated with green colored lights which create a splendid reflection in the pool.  

Day 2: The Kampong Ayer  
It’s a famous water village and a collection of smaller modern villages equipped with all the latest facilities. It has a lot to offer in terms of shopping and eating out. Water taxis are the fastest way to move about. You can take a walk on wooden planks that connect the houses.  

Day 3: Backpacking  
If you are looking for a one day picnic, you can have a go at the Jerudong Playground which is also a famed amusement park.  

Day 4: Experience Royalty  
Istana Nurul Iman Palace is the home of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah. This is the world’s biggest residential palace and it offers a scenic view of the towering hills and a charming riverside.  

Day 5: Go Back in Time 
For art lovers, the Brunei Museum is recommended because of its renowned Islamic Art Gallery. Take a walk down Brunei’s exquisite tombs, one being the Tomb of Sharif Ali and the other being the Tomb of Sultan Bolkia. The Brunei History Center will brief you on important people such as the Royal Families and the happenings in their lives. Brunei also had a very colorful art and craft history which can be experienced at the The Arts and Handicrafts Center.  

Day 6:The Royal Regalia Building  
The Sultan has received numerous exclusive gifts and treasures, and they are on display here. Precious stones, jewelry, crowns and much more for those who like the high life.    

Day 7 : Play in the parks  
The city has lush green gardens and recreational parks that will allow you to take a break from all the sightseeing. The Persiaran Damuan and The Bukit Subok Recreational Park are delightful places for taking strolls and viewing the gorgeous city. For picnics and treks alongside ponds and waterfalls, Jalan Tasek Lama is recommended. Bandar Seri Begawan, is a magnificent blend of history, art and culture and makes you feel no less than a royal yourself.
