The South-East Asia travel guide includes countries such as Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Singapore. Southeast Asia enthralls it's visitors with it's culture, friendly people, traditions and breath taking natural beauty. There is a wide range of activities offered in the region and adrenaline junkies will find plenty of entertainment. Southeast Asia has delicious cuisine with plenty of dishes to chose from.

Transport

Southeast Asia is easy to reach by air, train or road. There are international airports located in Southeast Asia with Bangkok being a major transport hub. Many tourists use Bangkok as a starting point to explore the rest of the region. It is possible to travel around countries such as Thailand by train. Within countries there are many different options for getting around, including taxis, motorbike taxis and buses. Make sure that you negotiate a fare before setting of on a journey or use metered taxis.

Attractions


Southeast Asia has an abundance of attractions that draw tourists from all over the world. From historical monuments to religious sights to astounding natural beauty, the region has something for everyone. Thailand's beaches will take your breath away and the beaches offer the perfect setting for sun lovers. The clear blue water offers a respite from the heat. World renowned parties such as full moon parties are held on Thailand beaches. In Cambodia you can visit Ankor Wat which is the site of ruins from the Khmer Empire. The Killing Fields and S-21 Tuol Sleng Prison are a reminder of Cambodia's past and the suffering the Cambodian people have endured. In Laos it is popular to rent tubes and float down the river. There are many ancient temples to explore in Burma. Around Southeast Asia are spectacular scuba diving sites and scuba diving courses are offered.

Climate

The climate differs from country to country but most of the region has a tropical climate with high humidity levels. In most areas there is a wet, hot and cool season. Temperatures average at 30 degrees C. During the wet or monsoon season there is heavy rain in the region. Flooding may occur. You may want to avoid certain areas during monsoon season and the rain may hinder sight seeing activities.
