Kurunegala Travel GuideEdit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
In Kurunegala, you can feast your eyes with coconut plantations and paddy fields. The country’s hilly southern part offers a perfect place for tea plantations and the accompanying villages, such as Nuwara Eliya. Dense rainforests cover the south-western part and this is the area to go to when you want to see wildlife.
Kurunegala is the royal capital for only half a century, starting with the reign of Buvanekabahu II (1293-1302) who was followed by Parakramabahu IV (1302-1326).There is little left of the Tooth relic temple save few stone steps and part of doorway.
