Edit ThisFrom the UK, you can get to Sri Lanka via your local airport, rail or road to either Glasgow, Manchester, Gatwick or Heathrow.
Air Lanka is the countries own airline, and I guarantee you a feeling of being treated special. If you like lots of comforts, then you won't go far wrong with this airline, which takes the more direct flight path, occassionally touching down in Male, capital of the Maldive Islands, enroute.
There are plenty of other airlines going to Sri Lanka, but none seem to go there direct.
Colombo Airport is everything you would expect more..
