Some 10 km south of Skardu, lies the Satpara Lake. Surrounded by high glacial mountains, this lake has an island in the middle of its clear waters and can only be accessed by boat. The lake is considered ideal for fishing.

Earlier there was no proper access but now because of the metalled road to Deosai, and the spot being on the way, has become an easy access. Tourists, who travell throgh SKARDU to different routes to the mountains for climbing and trekking, must pay a short visit to the lake as a city tour. The resort on the bank of lake is ideal for lunch and to spend a more..
