Lahore is one of the most wonderful places to visit in Pakistan. It has been the capital city for many different empires and conquering powers that have been in Pakistan. The architecture of the area shows the many different influences in this Punjabi city. The city of Lahore once served as the capital of the undivided Punjabi empire. Today it is one of the finest cities one can visit in Pakistan. There are many different day trips a visitor can take from Lahore.

Lahore Museum

The Lahore museum shows a lot of artifacts and has exhibits about events that were crucial to Lahore’s history. The museum was inaugurated around 1894. One of the most impressive possessions of this museum is the Fasting Buddha statue. Parents and kids will marvel at the armory and the pottery from Lahore’s ancient history. The museum is located on Lower Mall Road in the city of Lahore. It is wonderful to see the imposing museum with its reddish color.

Iqbal Park

People who love the outdoors will really enjoy Iqbal Park. Here people can see the monument called Minar-E-Pakistan. This monument was made to celebrate the Pakistan Resolution. The cool part about this park is that is follows one of the most popular “sports” events in all Pakistan: kite flying. It is amazing to see the different shapes of kites fighting off one another.

Shalimar Gardens

This garden was commissioned by Sha Jahan a Mughal Emperor of Pakistan. The building of the gardens was a combined effort and it took only 1 year to finish the building of the gardens. In 1972 UNESCO named it a world heritage site. There are 3 terraces in the park. One of the levels or terraces is named Bestower of Pleasure. There are also several water fountains and cascades in the park. Looking at this historical site can add a lot of history to many Lahore day trips.

Sozo Water Park

Sozo Water Park is located in Canal Bank Road in Lahore. There are many people who flock to this place. People come looking for fun and they also come to quench the sun using the water from the park. Kids and the whole family can have fun while swimming in one of the many pools in Sozo Park. There are also lots of water slides in this place. People can have a good time in this place that is found in the outskirts of Lahore. This is a sure way to end one of the many Lahore day trips.

Some 70 km south of town, Changa Manga has tiny mosques. The drive there past fields of mustard is very colorful and provides an opportunity to see rural areas.
