Khushab was an earlier part of Districts Sargodha and Shahpur. One of its beautiful valleys is Soon Valley, with Naushahra as its central place. Pail-Piran and Padhrar villages link it to the motor way.

Valley is home to the Awan tribe except the village Pail-Piran is home to Hasmites (Hashmi Sadat, descendents of Hazrat Bah Ud din Zakkariyya and Arab rulers-Habbari's of Sind).
