Altaf is from a village near Gilgit and he is an independent tour/trekking guide, based out of the Madina Hotel in Gilgit. His website is www.geocities.com/altafjasminetours email altafjasminetours@yahoo.com He charges between 50 and 100 us dollars per day, depending on the trip, and can organise anything from jeep treks and day trips to 21-day mountain climbing expeditions. He is a nice guy, with great English and some Japanese, and he is well organised with good cooks, porters etc, and has his own jeep.
