Very pleasant garden with rooms around it. Ask for mr. Yaqoob.Mark Bickerton: a small, relaxing place, run by locals with great local knowledge. Many people come by for a day or two, and end up staying a week. Good for sharing knowledge and experience about KKH and crossing into China. Food available, and collection of videos. In my view, the nicest place to stay in Gilgit- less stars than some, officially, but a much friendlier environment. asif: this place is excellent!

Edit Thisthe most popular place in Gilgit is probably the Madina Hotel in NLI chowk. Its a nice backpacker type hotel with a garden and a nice communal dinner table so its a good place to meet other travellers, and to unwind, which can be very nice after a long trek
