Museums in Faisalabad
Edit ThisOn the flat fields of the Punjab Province is Faisalabad. With its dry mornings and expanse of agriculture, it may appear to be a strange tourist retreat. But Faisalabad Museums prove there is much more to find here. Explore the realms of science and enjoy.
University of Agriculture
Sprawled on campus grounds is this unique museum experience. The University of Agriculture is Faisalabad’s premier institution. And, within it, guests will be treated to an extensive library (complete with over 50,000 valuable texts) and a classroom atmosphere. Biology, medicine, farming and more are explained; and visitors are allowed to participate. Since its beginnings in 1906, the university has provided its students with an unrivaled education and travelers will now be given a glimpse. There is no admission charge. Campus hours will apply.
Punjab Medical College
Though Faisalabad museums may seem uncommon, they will still impress. Established in 1974, the Punjab Medical College is far more than its name implies. It doesn’t simply offer courses; it offers unexpected delights. The departments of Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Community Medicine and Anatomy each have their own small museum--housing biological samples, dissected specimens and more. While these rooms serve as practical tutorials for the students, they can also become a source of fascination for you. Scheduling is a necessity, however.
Lyallpur Museum
Hoping to explore the origins of Faisalabad is the soon to be built Lyallpur Museum. As of April 2010, construction was still underway. But the intention is to soon craft a structure beside the famed Coronation Library and allow visitors to examine the past.
Faisalabad museums are not devoted to the usual sculptures or paintings. Instead they wish to enlighten and to teach.
