Mangrotha is small town 3 km from Taunsa consisting of two small towns being referred to as east Mangrotha and West Mangrotha.

This is the headquarter of Union Council Mangrotha. Sardar Mohammad Saeed Ullah Khan Nasuha has been the Nazim for the last three consecutive terms. He also served as Tehsil nazim Taunsa Sharif.

The main occupation is farming. The lands are barani and not canal irrigated.

The literacy rate is among the highest in the region.

The main tribes include Nutkani which is sub-divided into Nasuha, Shedani and many other Biradris; and Buzdar.

As it is a small town, there are no major hotels. There are some small hotels in neighbouring town of Taunsa Sharif.
