Agra Fort
Edit ThisThe Agra fort is of great historical importance, so don't miss out on it. Whereas it had strict military functions in the early days, it became the palace where great decisions considering the city's future were made and the residence of Shah Jahan. Many courtyards, lady bazar, hall of public hearing, the Moti Masjid mosque and a good view of the Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal
Edit ThisTaj Mahal

Extraordinary mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for his deceased the wife. Take your time to see the gardens, the minarets, the symmetry of the place and in the end, actually walk the marble steps of the Taj yourself. Take a good look at the laid in precious stones and have some good views of the Yamuna river and the Red Fort. Don't hesitate to visit the Taj more often: you'll remain impressed whether it is in the early morning, in the blistering heat, on a rainy day or on a late afternoon when the sun is about to set.

Mausoleum of Akhbar the Great
Edit ThisNot in Agra itself, but some ten kilometres away, this mausoleum offers a good example of the transitional phase in architectural styles. The mausoleum is constructed of both sandstone and marble.
