Arunagiri - Tirunelveli National Theatre

This area is well-known for its folk dances which are part of its cultural heritage. When girls are dancing, that is actually a story to be told, and every dance is given as a worship of gods. Bharatanatyam is the most popular dance. This is the oldest form of performing arts not particularly connected to this area but the whole India is dancing this dance. This is not just a simple dance but a conjunction of many different art styles. The national theatre in the city of Tirunelveli is performing traditional dances almost every night and tourists can always find tickets in tourist information office at the theater. Bommalattam is the famous puppet show and every village and city around has its own shows and usually tourists can see these shows at festivals. Sometimes they perform in theater.

Bright Browsing Centre

This place is located on the first floor of the Roche Complex and it is a nice place to chat and grab some drinks with friends. The music is not so loud and this place looks like a country club more than a bar but it is still a great place to hang out in the evening. Don’t miss the chance to try the food that is served here, and if you are not a fan of hot and spicy just tell the person waiting on you.

Annapoorna Hotel

This hotel is located in the city center and has a really nice Indian restaurant and a disco bar and probably tourists will have a feeling going back in time dancing here. The music is local or the 1970s and 1980s, but still a charming place where you can easily spend the whole night. It is probably one of the rare places in the city where you can dance.

Ganesh Theatre

Bollywood movies are extremely popular around India and cinemas are working around the clock so tourists can always grab a movie or two in the evening. If the movie is new it is necessary to buy tickets a bit earlier. Ganesh Theatre is nice and cozy and completely packed with photos of famous Indian move stars.
