Kodaikanal is well connected by road too. The nearest major town is dindugal, which is around 60kms from Kodaikanal. Kodaikanal can be reached from either Erode side via palani( religious abode of lord Murugan) or from Salem side via Dindugal.

Reach dindugal from Salem/Trichy and head towards vethalakundur which is 20kms away towards Kodai. From vethalakundur take a deviation that directly goes to Kodai. Kodai hills is a 40km drive in the Ghats.Roads are good and not much steep to drive. Amazing views and small streams greet you along the way.

Kodaikanal is 450kms from Bangalore on NH7. The roads are not great. It took me 9hrs drive from Kodaikanal to Bangalore.
