Kanya Kumari Travel Guide

Located at south most part of India.Kanyakumari is a place at the confluence of the Indian ocean,the Bay of Bengal and; the Arabian sea. The multicoloured sand is an unique feature of the beach here. It got it's name from the deity of the place, Goddess Kanya Kumari; the virgin.The temple overlooks the shoreline. It is dedicated to Parvati as Devi Kanya, the Virgin Goddess who did penance to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva. The deity, Devi Kanyakumari is' the protector of India's shores' has an exceptionally brilliant diamond on her nose ring which is supposed to shine out to sea.

Swami Vivekananda Memorial is the main attraction at Kanyakumari(also known as Cape Comorin).

 The sunrise and the sunset view is very beautiful here, This is among the very few places on earth where one can see the sunrise from the sea and the sun sets in the sea.
