Kamakshi Amman Temple is situated right in the centre of the town (ten minutes walk from bus-stand). though architecturally not as impressive as many other south-Indian temples, it is well-known for its religious importance.

Vaikuntha Perumal Temple is one of the most beautiful, and still ignored by tourists. what attracts is the roughness because of time. if ASI (Archiological Survey of India- Government body looking after conservation of old monuments in India) did not do much damage to it, it would have been the best sight. the temple is run by ASI and hence hassle free from temple priests, though be careful as sometimes the priest here too can robe you off your few Rupees.

Kailasanatha Temple is another one in the range of most beautiful temples. most interesting is the courtyard just inside the main entrance. this temple too is under ASI.

Ekambaranathar Temple though very crowded, is worth visit. it is one of the larger temples in Kanchi which is frequently visited by locals as well as people from surrounding region.
