This zoo is situated on Chandigarh Patiala road and about 17 km from Chandigarh. The work on this zoo started in the seventies. Now it has been developed into a zoological park. The Royal Bengal Tiger is the main attraction here. Visitors are taken to the tiger’s sanctuaries in the caged motor vehicle while the animals roams freely in their reserved areas. There are species of birds. Among the collections is Himalayan black beer. It remain open all days except Mondays, 26th Jan, 2nd Oct and 15th Aug.
                                                                                                        When it comes to excursions around Chandigarh, Pinjore gardens deserve a special mention. Also known as Yadavindra Gardens, they are situated about 20 kms away from the city. The work of creating Pinjore gardens began in the seventeenth century. It covers a total area of 100 acres. Chandigarh Pinjore Garden serves as the venue for hosting the annual event of mango festival. The garden houses a mini zoo, historic places, Japanese garden, nursery and a number of picnic spots. According to the Hindu mythology, it is said that it is over here that Pandava brothers had rested during their exile.
After that drive to Patiala ( 60 Km/1 : 45 hours) Arrived and check in hotel.

Maharaja Narendra Singh was a great patron of literature, music and fine arts. He invited many painters from Kangra and Rajasthan to paint the walls of Sheesh Mahal. Their works depicting the vision in poetry of Keshav, Surdas and Bihari, both in line and colour, are a treat to the eye of the beholder. The themes of these paintings embrace mythology, legends, Raga-Ragni, Nayak-Nayika and Bara-masa in Rajasthani style. These walls and ceilings are also rich in floral designs. The interior casts a Kaleidoscope phantasmagoria of myriad images and multi-coloured lights. The museum has a rich collection of miniature paintings of the middle of 19th century. Themes of these paintings are based on the Geet Gobinda or Jaya Deva's poetry. The Kangra paintings depicting the, Krishan Lila reflect the highest professional and delicate taste. Paintings displaying the Raga-mala of the Rajasthan schools and that of the Mughal give a visual meaning to the Ragas.
Sheesh Mahal's Natural History Gallery displays stuffed animals and birds curated by a celebrated English taxidermist in the early twentieth century.
Sports Museum is housed in the National Institute of Sports, in Patiala, Punjab. It is a unique exhibition center showcasing rare photographs, medals and kits of the great Indian sportsmen. The Sports Museum is situated in the sylvan surroundings of Moti Bagh Palace.
Patiala, a city of gardens and palaces, has a rich architectural and cultural heritage. The ol
dest part of Patiala is the walled city within which Quila Mubarak; the oldest fortified palace of the city, sits on a raised mound.
Quila Mubarak forms the core around which the walled city developed. It dates back to 1763 AD. Baba Ala Singh, who was the founder of the Patiala dynasty built a kachigarhi (mud fortress) and named it Quila Mubarak. Later, it was reconstructed in baked bricks. Maharaja Amar Singh (1765-1781 AD) completed the construction of the inner palace called the Quila Androon. Maharaja Sahib Singh (1781- 1813 AD), Maharaja Karam Singh (1813 AD - 1845 AD) Maharaja Narinder Singh (1845 AD to 1862) had also resided in this fort.

                                                                                                     The villagers of Lehal donated land for the modest Gurudwara built on this elevated site, said to have been visited by Guru Teg Bahadur. The legend is that anyone who prays at this Gurudwara is relieved of his suffering ('dukhniwaran'). A new bigger is Building now being  constructed.

4- DAY

Devi Talab Mandir is the most prominent place/structure of modern Jalandhar City. It is one of the most ancient , magnificent , vast and active temple of Jalandhar and
along side area, with pyramidal shikhara of grabha griha covered with plates of gold and main shrine surrounded by sacred water pond(200 yrs. old).
It is basically complex of various temples. Main one, located in the centre enclosed by pond is the Temple of Mother Goddess Durga ( Maa Sherain Wali). It is shakti pith which is one of the 51 shaktipithas which is know as Tripurmalini. Other temples are of oldest Maa Kali temple. Next to it is Sun Temple, Replica of Shri Amarnath is also made on the side, gardens annapurna and living accommodations.The temple complex also hosts annually “Hariballabh Sangeet Sammelan” is held every year in the precincts of Devi Talab Mandir for the last 125 years. It is the biggest and oldest-living congregation cum competition of North Indian Classical Music.

Formerly the Jagatjit Palace; This imposing edifice was built in 1906 by a French architect, Monsieur M Marcel. Inspired by the Palaces of Versailles and Fontainebleau in France, its statuary and painted ceilings represents the finest features of French art and architecture. Expert Indian and European workmen carried out the interior decoration of this Palace. The great Durbar Hall, is one of the finest of its kind, done entirely in the Indian style, appropriate for the ceremonial occasions that were once held under its roof

This unique building, constructed in 1930, is one of its kinds in South East Asia. Very stylized, it is typically Moroccan in form and substance. This is one of the most historic as well as unique buildings situated in Kapurthala. It was built by his highness Maharaja Jagatjit Singh Bahadur, Designed by famous French architect M. Manteaux, it is a unique piece of art of the Moorish style of architecture. This is patterned after the Qutbya Mosque on Morocco. It has a large compound paved with pure Indian Marble and decorators from Lahore School of Art had designed the interiors of the historic Mosque. Its construction was started on October 1926 and which was completed on March1930.Total building cost of Mosque was Rs.4, 00,000.00. Nawab Sadiq Mohd inaugurated it.

6 –DAY

The Golden Temple or  harimandir sahib  situated in Amritsar, Punjab, is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds.



The memorial at this site commemorates the 2000 Indians who were  wounded,  and 379 were  killed  by the British under the command of Gen Michael O"Dyer on April13, 1919 while participating in a peaceful public meeting. This was one of the major incidents of India's freedom struggle.The story of this appealing massacre is told in the Martyr's Gallery at the site. A section of wall with bullet marks still visible is preserved along with the memorial well, in which some people jumped to escape. "The impossible men of India shall rise and liberate their mother land", declared Mahatma Gandhi, after the Jallian Wala massacre. "This disproportionate severity of punishment inflicted upon the unfortunate people and method of carrying it out is without parallel in the history of civilized govt." wrote Rabindra Nath Tagore the noble laureate while returning knighthood

The international border between India and Pakistan. The pomp and pageantry of the BeatingRetreat and the Change of Guard within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistaniforces makes for a most charming spectacle.

Wagah, an army outpost on Indo-Pak border - between Amritsar and Lahore, is an elaborate complex of buildings, roads and barriers on both sides. The daily highlight is the evening "Beating the Retreat" ceremony. Soldiers from both countries march in perfect drill, going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. As the sun goes down, nationalistic fervor rises and lights are switched on marking the end of the day amidst thunderous applause.
