Patiala is a City of Palaces and Gardens. The City is Clean, Green and Beautiful. The city has several good institutions for Education in many fields. The City also has a National Institute of Sports which provides Sports Training to many Sportsmen in the Whole North India Region.

The current Chief Minister of the State of Punjab is from Patiala. The City has seen a great development in the recent 3 - 4 years. There is not much industry and this town is a small and very livable town with not much of traffic and not much of Nightlife, just a few Hotels and Restaurants.
