One of the most important festivals in Choudwar is the Ganesh festival, where a competition is held among various localities for the best Ganesh idol and the most attractive decoration. Till about 15 years back, the music in this festival was conducted by nearby tribals. Later, modernised musical troupes took over. It is one of the most eagerly-awaited festivals and attracts people from nearby Cuttack also.
