Visitors can experience light showers during the season and should carry light woolen clothes as well. People mainly visit here in this season due to the major festival, Deepavali, which is also celebrated in October. The festival is a 5-day festival of lights. During Deepavali small clay pots of oil are lit by celebrants to show the triumph of good over evil within each of them. When all of the lamps are lit by the faithful, Panchgani Hill Station is aglow.
Winter for Panchgani Hill Station comes between December and February with slightly cooler temperatures at around 16 C. This is a nice cool time to walk the many trails in and around town or take a pony for a long ride along the banks of the Krishna River.
The Strawberry Festival which comes in March is a wonderful time to be at Panchgani Hill Station, especially if you like strawberries. You can enjoy everything strawberry that one can think of at the festival, even strawberry pizza.
