Beaches in Goa
Edit ThisThe area of Goa in India is well known for its many beaches. All along the west side of Goa are beautiful beaches from secluded places to relax to crowded places to party. Almost all beaches have different vendors scattered around for food and drinks. Some hotels and resorts are built right on the beach for ease of accessibility. There are many fun things to do on all the beaches of Goa and with the abundance of different kinds of beaches to choose from. You should be able to find lots of different activities to fill your beachside vacation.
Calangute Beach
Calangute Beach is very popular and busy. There are a lot of visitors to this beach every year making it a good choice if you’re looking to be around people. Here you can enjoy lots of different sports activities, food, and entertainment. The different water sports you can enjoy in Calangute include parasailing, water skiing and wind surfing.
Anujuna Beach
Anjuna is another popular beach more known for its nightlife. Here, the beach is turned into a rave party late for celebrations. The beach is also lined with bars and clubs that keep the drinks coming and the music flowing. You can enjoy late night parties here or in the day time the beach is nice for sunbathing and taking long walks. The sands are pretty and clean as is the waters.
Baga Beach
Baga beach is a smaller beach right off of Calangute. The beach is more scenic and a little less densely populated. Here people can enjoy some water sports and fishing. It is also better suited for swimming. Nightlife here can be pretty entertaining as well with Tito’s, a dance club right on the beach that travelers frequent.
Dona Paula Beach
Dona Paula beach is apparently haunted by Dona Paula de Menezes. According to the legend the Viceroy’s daughter took her own life after objections from her family over her affair with a poor fisherman. Another legend says that she was pushed off the cliff as punishment for seducing the Count of Alvor. She is supposed to still be seen at night coming from the waves with a pearl necklace around her neck. Other than the ghost stories, people visit this beach for the crystal waters and wide variety of water sports.
There are lots of different beaches to visit in Goa. For more secluded beaches try getting off the beaten path but always stay safe and listen to the locals for tips.
