Though there are a few airstrips in towns near Hampi, where one can organize siteseeing chartered flights, the most convenient way to travel to Hampi is by road or train.

Hampi is very well connected with Bangalore. Upon reaching Hampi, one can easily get bus tickets to other popular tourist destinations, e.g. Goa, from one of the private bus operators.

Hospet is the nearest rail head (13 kms). Hospet is linked by rail to Bangalore, Bijapur,Hubli and Guntakal.

Hampi is 350 kms from Bangalore. KSRTC Buses ply regularly between Bangalore and Hospet, and between Hospet and Hampi. You can chose from a wide variety of classes on the Bangalore Hospet route. Semi-deluxe, Deluxe, and the most comfortable Volvo buses.

There is a daily bus between Bangalore and Hampi as well. But only the deluxe class operate on this route. Tickets can be booked at numerous private operators, or from a number of Karnataka State Road Transport Corportation (KSRTC) booking counters across Bangalore.
