Gulbarga is a city of about 500,000 people in central India . The city is a perfect synthesis of the Hindu and Muslim cultures that play an enormous part in its creation, and numerous historical sites abound. Visit Gulbarga fort, featuring 15 fortified towers, Khwaja Bande Nawaz Durgah, the tomb of saint Khawaja Syed Mohammad Gesu Daraz, or the Shrine of Saint Sharana Basaveshwara. Gulbarga is not overly commercial or overrun with the tourist trade, and thus gives a fairly accurate representation of what an average city in central India is like. The Sun International Hote is one hotel in the center of town to stay in. However, the hotels here are hard to find but this is an ever changing situation with the growth in the country. The Cauvery Fishing and Nature Cam is an altogether rustic experience and would only be attractive to a small group of visitors.
