The nearest railway station to reach Srinagar is Jammu which is well-connected with all the major cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. Jammu is at a distance of 290 km from Srinagar. Both bus and taxi services operate on a regular basis from Jammu to Srinagar.

Many government and tourist services operate daily service in deluxe buses on this route. Cab services are also offered by many tour operators, however hiring a cab can be very expensive.
