Edit This I have visited Srinagar a few times and my recommendations are
Grand Palace if you want to spend avg Rs 10,000 a day per Room
Grand Mumtaz if you want to spend avg 7000 a day per Room
Green Acre if you want to spend less then 3500 a day.
Personally, I prefer Green Acre, situated in the most posh location of the valley; website address: www.wazirhotels.com . In my opinion, the best budget hotel for families. Have a small restaurant for in-house guest only. The hospitality in this hotel was awesome and so is the food. The staff is extremely cooperative which made my stay very comfortable. Not to mention just 1-2 km from lake and the main market. Very Centrally Located.
