Sights in Gujarat
Edit ThisGujarat sights have been attracting millions of tourists for
ages. This state, located in the western part of the Indian
subcontinent, is known for its sheer beauty and glorious culture and
traditions. The inhabitants of Gujarat, popularly known as "Gujaratis,"
are spread across the world, and are widely known for their business
insight. The host of sightseeing options here makes a visit to this
place thoroughly enjoyable. If you have been planning to make a
trip to this colorful state in the near future, make sure you know
enough about this place to make your trip memorable enough to last
a lifetime. Let’s explore some of the frequently visited tourist spots:
Gandhinagar
The
present capital of the state is a unique place in itself. It is named
after the National Father of India, Mahatma Gandhi. The primary tourist
spots here are the Akshardham Temple, Sarita Udyan, the Capital Complex,
Children’s Park, Adalaj Stepwell, and Craftsmen’s Village. Known to be
built by the richest sect, the Akshardham Temple was built by as many as
1000 artisans. The perfectly manicured lawns enhance the beauty of
this temple to a great extent. Holiday makers are greatly attracted to
the Children’s Park and the Craftsmen’s Village.
Ahmedabad
This
is known to be the city of Ahmed Shah, the medieval monarch of Gujarat
who was associated with the freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi. The main
tourist attractions in Ahmedabad are the Gandhi Ashram, The Walled City,
the Mosque of Sidi Sayid, the Sidi Bashir Mosque, Kankaria Lake, Hathee
Singh Jain Temple, and many more. The Walled City allows us a glimpse
of the 18th century. The Mosque of Sidi Sayid has been constructed with
stones and its window resembles banyan tree patterns. Hathee Singh Jain
Temple, again, is constructed entirely out of white marbles, and houses
as many as 52 shrines, with a Jain Tirthankar idol in each of them.
Vadodara
It is a town mostly known for its cultural traits. Music,
fine arts, and all other art forms seem to have merged into one in this
cultural city. The main tourist attractions in Vadodara are the Vadodara
Museum, the Laxmi Vilas Palace, Kammati Baug, Sayaji Bagh, and many
more. Of all these popular tourist spots, the Vadodara Museum attracts
tourists from as far as USA and the UK. The fine displays of European
culture in the form of sculptures and paintings brilliantly showcases
how the Indian artists have an eye for art. The Laxmi Vilas Palace, on
the other hand, formed the residence of the rulers of Baroda. This
palace is also one among the most well known tourist spots. The interior
of this palace has been beautifully done with Venetian glass, and is
complemented with crystal chandeliers and Italian marble statues from
the European continent. Again, for those travelers whose trip is not
complete without shopping, Khanderao Market is an ideal place to be.
Over
all, Gujarat sights are soaked in rich and glorious traditions, and
offer a brilliant stay to tourists and visitors from across the world.
