Sarkhej Roja

Though difficult to place in one catagory, it is perhaps the most beautiful place Ahmedabad has to offer.  situated little outside, it is  a complex consisting of  mosque, tomb of kings and priest's memorial, and summer palaces for king and queen, all  surrounding a water tank.  best  time  to  visit  is  evening,  as the sunset is very beautiful. recently they have added tourist service and a part of old building holds small exhibition showing history of place.

Friday, sunday and thursday are overly crouded though an experience. other days are peaceful.

One can combine it with visit of Vishala- traditional restaurant, after visiting this place, as they are both close-by.
