The Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, founded by Mrinalini Sarabhai in 1949 is one of India's most prestigious performing arts institutions. The school offers short and long term courses in Classical Indian Dance, Music, Theatre, Martial Arts and Puppetry. Natarani, its amphitheatre is home to the Vikram Sarabhai International Arts Festival that runs in December every year, bringing to Ahmedabad artists from all over the world.
