Pleasant village near the beach, with lots of tourist hotels and guesthouses, restaurants and bars. Lively and central, ideal for doing all kind of trips (to Old Goa, Anjuna market, Mapusa, Fort Aguada, etc.).

A few years ago, a big ship (the River Princess) got stuck on the beach-side, and has been lying there ever since, but this year, works started for it's removal.
