Day Trip to Agra from Delhi

Agra is a popular tourist destination in Uttar Pradesh and is about 200 kilometers from Delhi. The city is well connected with train and bus services from Delhi. You can take Shatabdi or Taj Express trains to reach Agra. There are several forts and monuments to visit in Agra that are sure to thrill you. The below mentioned are the famous sites in Agra.

  • Enjoy the Splendor of Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is the main attraction of Agra. This marvelous architecture in white marble was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, and is a global icon. One cannot define the beauty of Taj Mahal in words; just a glimpse of it is an achievement in itself.  It is open all days from 6 a.m to 7 p.m except Fridays.
  • Be impressed by the Red Fort in Agra
Red Fort was built by Emperor Akbar but it was Emperor Shah Jahan who turned it into a mini city. This massive fort built in red sand stone has many impressive monuments within. You can also get a glimpse of Taj Mahal from within the fort.
  • Take a tour of Fatehpur Sikri in Agra
This is another impressive historic site which is a must-see in Agra. This was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar and was the capital city of the Mughal Empire in India for almost 14 years, after which it was abandoned when the capital was shifted to Delhi. This place also has the Dargah of the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti which is a very sacred place for both Muslims and Hindus. There are many places of attractions within the site that is a must-see for all.

Day trip to Mathura from Delhi

This is a perfect day trip for those who love visiting temples in India. Mathura is barely two hours drive from Delhi and is a town in Uttar Pradesh. It is an important pilgrimage center of the Hindus as it is the birthplace of Lord Krishna. It is believed that whosoever set feet in the soil here gets salvation. Everywhere you will see temples of Lord Krishna and the devotees chanting the Lord’s name in the melodious kirtan . The purity in the atmosphere here is hard to find anywhere else. There are many ancient temples and the famous ISKCON temple which you shouldn't miss seeing. There are many private tour operators who organize tours to Mathura.

The District Park, Hauz Khas is just about two Km. from the AIIMS / Safdarjung fly over. One can try for a picnic at District Park at Hauz Khas, New Delhi. The Park has four different wings i.e. Rose Garden, Deer Park, Fountain & District Park, Old Monuments and Hauz Khas Art Market. One can enjoy the entire area, once inside the park one cannot believe to be in the heart of Delhi. Besides the above the PArk has a beautiful resturant "Park Baluchi" the right place to enjoy a day trip. After the complete day trip one can have the darshan and evening aarti more..

Located at 130 km from Delhi, this place is a heritage in itself. Neemrana Fort Palace is situated on a majestic plateau concealed in a horseshoe formation of the Aravalli ranges, considered the oldest fold mountains in the world. The beginnings of this rugged architectural jewel which rises to nine levels, date back to 1464 AD, making it India 's oldest heritage resort. Conveniently located just off the Delhi Jaipur highway, Neemrana is Rajasthan's closest palace to India's capital.
