Silvassa, the tiny sleepy capital township, still retains the traces of Portuguese rule. It is a `Garden Beautiful' with the roaring waterfalls, misty cascades, rustic stone walls, twin arches, tiny kiosks and springing lawns interspersed with islands of flowers. Only 5 kms from Silvassa is the most beautiful lake garden of the land named Dadra Garden in Dadra.

ACCESS

The nearest railway station Vapi is about 14 km away where road transport is easily available. road: from Mumbai - Ahmedabad N.H. No. 8, Silvassa, the capital town of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, is about 180 km from Mumbai, about 120 km from Surat and about 10 km from Bhilad & 14 km from Vapi.

Vanvihar Tourist Complex, Chauda at Khanvel and watersports and Tentage Complex at Dudhni are popular picnic spots of the territory besides the Island Gardens.There is a lion safari on road of Dudhni. and there is also Luheri Traking Senter & big garden and  Tourist Complex also.

Tribal Cultural Museum For those in hurry who can't spare time to meet the tribals in person, the tribal museum has it all displayed for them. The masks, hunting tools, fishing gadgets, musical instruments and the life size statues too. It will give you a feel of the territory and all that make the culture and people. Mini Zoo and Bal Udyan The zoo has colorful birds, mischievous monkeys, awesome pythons and sleepy crocodiles. For children's delight there are swings, slides and merry-go-rounds. Vandhara Udyan A riverside park with beautifully laid lawns dotted with exquisite pavilions, perfect for picnic - buffs. Quaint pavilions provide shelter to visitors. Pipariya Udyan This park is full of roaring waterfalls, misty cascades, rustic stone walls, twin arches, tiny kiosks and vast emerald lawns, is really a delight to behold. The sprawling islands of flowers are a feast to the eyes. Wild Life Of Silvassa There is good number of Panthers in the thick forest area of territory. There is Deer Park and very soon a Lion Safari park will be open for public.

The Vanganga Lake and Island Garden It is a beautiful lake garden situated at a distance of 5 km from the capital city of Silvassa. The rustic wooden bridges, the flowers, jogging paths, thatched huts, and paddleboats-all constitute an ideal ambiance for the honeymooners and for picnicers. It is a lovely lake garden, where audio video recording more than 25 Hindi feature films have been pictured. Vanvihar Tourist Complex, Khanvel Khanvel is a 20 km drive from Silvassa, and surrounded by lush green hills, with the beautiful Sakartod river flowing through. The drive to Khanvel is lined with tall trees on both sides of the road. This serene landscape is surrounded by lush green hills. Rolling Meadows, terraced gardens, rustic cottages is your chance to have a close encounter with Nature. The cottages in this complex are designed in the native style. The complex also has a Deer Park, and a green house. Tourist Complex, Dudhani Another 20 km drive from Khanvel, is Dudhani where the large waterfront of river Damanganga, provides a breathtaking view of the water-spread of Madhuban Dam. Adventurers can kayak, canoe and speed boat. For trekking enthusiasts one can pitch tents near the bank and get a dose of real camp life. Nature trails have been specially laid out to take them, right into the heart of the forest.

Bindrabin There are several old shrines in Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Bindrabin, the historic temple at Lord Shiva locally known as Tadkeshwara is situated amidst. Averts on the bank at river Sakartod. People from far off places visit to pray and seek blessings.

The Church Of Our Lady Of Piety One of the many fascinating sights you see in Dadra & Nagar Haveli is a glorious century old chapel, the church of our lady of piety, built way back in 1889, by the Portuguese. This one magnificent structure, chapter in the land's history under Portuguese rule, which began way back in 1779 when the Portuguese acquired 72 villages which, comprise this territory.
