Budget Travel Ideas in Hyderabad
Edit ThisHyderabad Budget Travel is not very difficult as the city is
one the country’s big commercial hubs. Apart from tourists, lots of
visitors are on business tours and prefer budget accommodation. So, if you
are traveling here on a tight budget then you can still have an
excellent time without worrying much about the cost.
Reaching Hyderabad:
Hyderabad has both international and domestic airports which have air services by almost all companies. They offer great discounts time and again. So, if you are on a tight budget, all you have to do is keep track of these offers and plan your travel accordingly. You can also save money if you plan in advance. Reaching the city from the airport can be done by pre-paid cars or auto-rickshaw. Cars usually charge around Rs350/- from airport to city while auto-rickshaws run on meters per km.
By Train
Hyderabad is well-connected with all the major cities in the country. Trains are cheaper when compared to air fare. Also, the journey is very comfortable. This is a good option if you have a tight budget; however, traveling by train is recommended only if you have time. Rajdhani and Shatabdi are direct trains to Hyderabad.
Accommodations
There are several budget hotels in and around the city that
carter to the needs of budget travelers. They provide tourists with all the basic
amenities like ensuite bathrooms, phones and televisions along with
sightseeing facilities, car rentals, foreign currency exchange and doctors-on-call. However, if you are in the city as a tourist then it is better to book a
room in a budget hotel in the main city which is the hub of all the
attractions rather than in other areas of the city. This will help you
save money on transportation and also you can go out to your favorite
places whenever you feel like. Hotel Minerva and Hotel Ashoka are
recommended for tourists.
Getting Around
The city has buses, cars and trains for public transportation. However, the cheapest and most comfortable of all is the auto-rickshaw. These are readily available and are very easy to move around with in the city’s congested traffic. They run by meter and charge per km. You can easily go to shopping or sightseeing in an auto-rickshaw.
The metro rail services are starting up very soon and will be the best means of moving around in the city for budget travelers.
