Andaman and Nicobar Islands practical information is quite essential for one planning to visit there. Population

 

The increase in the population is only due to the immigrant people from mainland. The maximum population density is 34 persons per square km. Population is dominated by mainland settlers. Only about 10 percent of the tribal population is part of total population. People are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, fishing, forestry, transport, and trade.

 

Language spoken

 

Most of the languages are spoken by the people of Andaman and Nicobar people because they have a cosmopolitan nature. The normal languages are Hindi and English and these languages are considered as official languages. The languages which are spoken by the people are Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, English, Nicobarese, Marathi, Kannada, oriva, Gujarati, and Karen. All the languages have their normal script as in mainland languages. The Nicobarese use Roman script and its own alphabets.

The currency which is used by the islands people is rupee.

 

Visa

 

Tourist visas to Andaman and Nicobar Islands can be collected from the Indian mission that is located in the respective country. It is essential for them to find out the appropriate visa fee or visa extension fee from the government of India tourist office  and Indian Consular offices situated in the respective countries.

 

Safety

 

The safety factors are of primary concern for the administration. They provide safety to the tourists by giving them safety through tourism police and life guards at beaches. These are established to provide them the sense of comfort, safety and security.
