Festivals in Andaman and nicobar islands

It is the Festival of Lord Krishna which is celebrated for the birth of Lord Krishna. People sing some devotional songs and hymns in devotion to Lord Krishna. Devotees paint their house and light them with flowers. They act the play of Raas Leela or the life of god. People keep fast till night and then completely vegetarian food is served among the devotees.
Island Tourism Festival
Island tourism festival is a 10-day festival which is full of dances, dramas, acts etc. There are so many exhibitions and art displays with aqua sports and para-sailing. People from other countries can understand the culture of Andaman and Nicobar, languages, customs, beliefs, values, attitudes, and religion during these festival days. This festival is celebrated in the month of December and January by their administration. And the main aim of this festival is to promote the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as good and tourism friendly places.
Subhash Mela
It is celebrated in the month of January of every year. It is organized for the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. It is a 7-day festival and people attend their functions.
Vivekananda Mela This festival is organized in the month of January and it is celebrated at the Neil Islands on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Block Mela It is also celebrated in the month of January and February at Diglipur every year. It highlights the progress of rural areas and rural life of the people of these islands. Finally, all Andaman and Nicobar Islands festivals are celebrated not only for enjoyment and to see but they are organized for the souls of human being.
