Trongsa is where the original Monarchy started almost 100 years ago.
Before the Crown Prince can become King he must first be the Trongsa
Penlop. In 2004 the current Crown Prince of Bhutan, Jigme Gysher Namgay
Wangchuk, was appointed Trongsa Penlop in anticipation of his eventual
accendancy to the throne. When he does become King the ceremony will be
held in Trongsa.
