Lhuntsi Travel Guide

In Lhuntsi, in the northeast region you’ll find the Lhuntsi Dzong, jagged terrain and kishutara a locally produced hand-woven brocade (visit Khoma, a village about 2 hours gentle walk off the road to see the heartland of Kishitara home weaving).

Not often visited because of its remote location, Lhuntsi is nevertheless well worth the effort. The Lhuntsi Tsechu (festival) is held in mid December. It is close to Mongar and Tashigang, but may take about three days to get there from Thimphu.
