Getting Around in Cox's bazar

Edit This

There are many transportation options available to you when visiting the sites of Bangladesh. You can get to the wonderful area via flight. The flights arrive at a domestic airport and then you have the option of entering the city either by bus, cycle-rickshaws, which are the most common, or rental cars with a local driver.

Car rentals here are not very common unless you are renting a car with the driver. You are unable to rent a vehicle for your own operation due to being unfamiliar with the region and driving cultures. For instance driving is on the left side of the road and the roads are mostly in poor condition making for a bit more aggressive drivers.

The Ferry service is another option and is located about 5 kilometers from the northern part of Teknaf and proceeds to Cox’s Bazar.

Another popular mode of transportation is the cycle-rickshaw. This is a tricycle-looking bike in which you have a driver to peddle and two occupants behind him in a seat. This is a quiet and clean ride and enables you to enjoy the sights at a comfortable speed. Be sure to know exactly where you want to go and clearly understand the fees so there are not any surprises. There are many different types and styles of these unique bikes. Some are equipped with an umbrella to keep you somewhat dry and some are motorized but environmentally friendly and quiet.

For whichever mode of transportation you chose always remember to negotiate your price for the destination before accepting the transport. There are many beautiful sights to enjoy especially along the white sandy beaches!
