However, alcohol is available in only selected places after 7 p.m. There is also a number of cafes long this stretch of beach. Some of the popular bars and café in Cox’s Bazar are as follows:

Seagull Hotel

Abshar, the hotel’s restaurant and sunken bar which sits by the pool, is one of the most popular places to get a drink in Cox’s Bazar. Like any good bar, Abshar serves a variety of liquors including beers, whiskeys, wines and even cold drinks. It also offers pizzas, barbeques and other snacks. The hotel has another spacious and well stocked bar on the second floor. Known as Mahua, this bar is artistically decorated and is an ideal place to sit back and enjoy a pleasant evening.

Hotel Sea Palace

Another place that offers a good choice of liquor is the bar at Hotel Sea Palace. Located just 200 yards away from Kalatoli Beach on Cox’s Bazar, this is a luxurious 5-star hotel that stands by the beach. The bar in this hotel can be a little expensive, but it does offer visitors a good place to unwind.

Sea Stone Café

This is a 2-storey building that is located on the beachfront. Open from 11 a.m. until late in the night, the Sea Stone Café provides a wonderful 180-degree view of Cox’s Bazar beach. Tourists can try a variety of Asian and Western dishes. Seafood is the specialty and it also offers grilled calamari, prawns, lobsters, crab and different kinds of fish. You can also try homemade pasta, beef and chicken at this café. Beverages served at the Sea Stone Café include herbal teas, coffee and fresh fruit juices.

Mermaid Café

If you are looking for a casual place to relax and enjoy a good meal, the Mermaid Café at Sea Inn Beach is an ideal spot. Its interiors are decorated with bamboo, wood, different seating areas and hammocks. This gives the Mermaid Café a natural laid-back atmosphere. The café serves seafood entrees like fish pizza, pasta and shrimp salads. You can also taste the different savory pancakes and crepes offered here. Although it has a wonderful view of the beach, it can be slightly overpriced. Nevertheless, it’s a great place to spend some time.
