Foreign currencies can be exchanged at airports, government-designated banks and hotels.
Major credit cards are widely accepted. Traveller's cheques may be cashed at foreign-exchange banks, some tourist-oriented businesses, and (by room guests) most international tourist hotels.
ATM's are widespread throughout the cities and major credit cards are accepted. However, some only accept cards held by nationals. This isn't made obvious so several machines may have to be tried before they will dispense cash.
