The best place to go shooping in Ueno is Ameyoko market. A boisterous place, Ameyoko started as a black market after World War II. The outdoor markets runs alogn side the train tracks and you will find fish, spishes, coffee, tea and a whole lot of other things here at very competitive prices (at least when compared to the rest of Japan).
