accommodation in Kitakyushu

Edit This

With a population of about one million, Kitakyushu is a small and easily navigated city. This city has both popular urban and countryside attractions. You'll find a cluster of hotels in Kitakyushu. This cluster is located near Kokura Station and shopping center. Budget travelers will be glad to know that there is one Hostelling International (HI) youth hostel here, but it is not centrally located.

The Royal Righa Hotel

One of the Kitakyushu hotels popular with tourists and businessmen alike, is the Royal Righa Hotel in Kokura. The location is good because the hotel is close walking distance to the shopping center at Kokura Station and the Kitakyushu International Convention Centre. This is a very clean and basic hotel nearby the train station. While the service might impress you, the restaurant and room service probably won’t.

The Kokura Tokyu Inn

The best bet for budget accommodations in Kitakyushu is the Kokura Tokyu Inn. More popular with the Japanese than it is with foreigners, this hotel is one of the lower priced Kitakyushu hotels and it is in the convenient to just about everything you want to do in Kitakyushu. Walk just ten minutes to reach JR Kokura Station and popular Kitakyushu tourist attraction Kokura Castle. Space World is only thirty minutes away and there is a Seven-Eleven on the same block. There are over one hundred no-smoking rooms available and four rooms designated only for women.

Prince Kitakyushu Hotel

For a hotel of the most consistent quality, stay at the Prince Kitakyushu Hotel. Each room has a refrigerator, cable TV and air conditioning. With indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a health spa, babysitting services and a jogging track, this hotel is great for the avid exerciser. The service is great, the rooms are always clean and it is centrally located. With a multi-lingual staff, there is almost always someone working who can speak English.

I think part of the experience of visiting Japan is experiencing the culture. Always staying in western style hotels won't give you the true Japanese experience. As an alternative to western style Kitakyushu hotel adventurous and stay at a ryokan or a capsule hotel. A ryokan is a Japanese style hotel. You can sleep on a real Japanese futon and walk on Tatami mats. Ryokans also provide exquisitely relaxing sauna and Jacuzzi facilities. Spend a night at one of the local favorites, the Shohakuen Ryokan Hotel in Kitakyushu .
