There is a new cafe opened just near Matsumoto Castle - it's called "payasa" (means "Indian rice pudding"). The place has got a great atomosphere and it's already become my favorite cafe! Owner Yasoo is great to talk to and you can just visit the place alone or with friends. They've also got a website www.geocities.com/cafepayasa   Definitely worth a try!
