When to Go in Kyoto
Edit ThisAutumn/Fall
Traditional culture and cherry
blossoms, what more could you ask for from the beautiful city of Kyoto,
Japan. With cherry blossoms in the spring and the autumn foliage of the
fall no wonder these are the two busiest times for tourism in Kyoto.
Even with the amount of tourists flocking to this central Japanese city
it is worth the extra expense and the extra time you will spend to
visit during these peak seasons.
Do not be mistaken by your
first impressions of Kyoto. Even though your first images of Kyoto will
be concrete and neon lights, behind doors and down side streets you
will find some of the most breath taking and interesting sights
available in this island country.
While you will be fighting for
lodging and amenities with many other tourists during the spring and
fall seasons this is the best time to make a trek to Japan. The temples
flanked by cherry blossom trees are sure to delight all visitors young
and old. Where else can you find that picturesque beauty of Japan that
you find in your imagination. During your spring stay you will
definitely need a light jacket and pants. With highs in April only
averaging 66 F you will want to be prepared in case of any northerly
winds.
As summer turns to fall so do the leaves turn to bright
reds and oranges. This beautiful sight will never be replicated
anywhere else in the world. The trees line streets and temple bridges
showering you with the lovely fall foliage. Walk along the Kamo River
and enjoy the breeze while enjoying the natural beauty of the leaves.
During the fall season you should be able to get away with pants and a
short sleeve shirt during the day. Be sure to pack a light weight
jacket for evenings out in the city.
