With the acception of North Korea, most of the countries in
North-East Asia are quite open to tourists, and hence air travel as
well as ferries are quite painless between countries. The notable
exception to this, is travel between China and Taiwan, and vice
versa, where an intermediate port of call is used (commonly Hong
Kong).
