When to Go in Zhong Shan

Edit This

Zhong Shan, when to go for a vacation is important to ensure you are able to see what you want, when you want. There is a lot of history associated with the city as it is named for the father of modern China, Sr. Sun Yat-Sen. There are several great memorials, parks and monuments to see. By doing some research beforehand you can ensure that you will travel to Zhong Shan at the best time and have a great trip.

Avoid Traveling During Public Holidays

One of the first things to investigate is when the public holidays are in the city as this is when most of the population goes on holiday. These domestic vacations make traveling very crowded and difficult and you should avoid them at all costs.

The main holiday season is the Chinese New Year which is at a different time each year as it follows the lunar calendar. Avoid traveling 2 weeks before and after this celebration as the Chinese are traveling and the prices for accommodation are sky high. If you are planning a trip at the last moment you will find it impossible to get airfare, rail tickets or bus passes. Much of the transportation stops around the main celebration as everyone, including the workers go on holiday.

Labor Day occurs on May 1 and National Day is on October 1. These 2 days mark the peak travel season in China. Most Chinese will be trying to escape the heat on the weekends by going offshore or to higher ground.

Weather Conditions

Checking out the weather is also very important as it gets very hot in the summer. The months of November and February are a good time as the humidity goes away and the temperatures drop and are quite comfortable. If you are planning on visiting more than Zhong Shan you should look into the best weather conditions at all your desired destinations.

Check Schedules and Hours of Operation

If there is a specific attraction you want to see, then make sure you determine when it is open or closed. Many times historic buildings may be under renovation. Making sure you have access when you will be in town is very important. Also realize that in China Saturday is a workday but some things may be closed. You can find this information online or you may contact the attraction directly or talk to a travel agent.
