Getting Around in Zhong Shan

Edit This

The Zhong Shan transportation system helps tourists move from one place to the other. This system is made up of buses, taxi cabs and subways. The traffic is heavy in the city and this makes it hard for people to move from one place to another. It is recommended that people take the subway when the traffic jam is at its worse.

Travel by Bus

There are different lines that run on the Zhong Zhan transportation system. Some of these lines travel during night time if they are marked with an N. The bus lines are comprised of small buses, regular buses and double decker buses. The double decker buses are mostly sight-seeing lines. The buses do not charge a lot of money, but they get stuck in traffic.

Travel by Subway

The subway is one of the best alternatives to traffic, but it also has its downfalls because during rush-hour there are large crowds trying to take the subway at the same time. The train lines connect Zhong Shan to the rest of Hong Kong and they also serve as a passage way to the airport. There are 4 subway lines that are currently in service.

Travel by Taxi Cab

Taking a taxi in Zhong Shan is quite simple, since there is an abundance of taxi cabs in service. The taxi cabs make it easier to travel on the Zhong Shan transportation system, because they run more frequently. The fare for a trip can start around $2.50 RMB and it can be more expensive during nighttime. There are times that drivers tend to over-charge tourists.
