Yuxi is located in the Middle Yunnan Lake Basin Area. Since avcient times the city has been called as "defensive frontier of the provincial capital". There is a huge number of tourist points here like the four plateau lakes, namely Fuxian Lake, Xingyun Lake, Qilu Lake and Yangzong Lake. Some hotels in Yuxi are Hong Ta Hotel, Sunny Coast Hotel and the Zhongyu Hotel Yuxi, however saying if these hotels are budget or luxury is anyone’s guess as finding data on them is nearly impossible to find. One of the five most famous mountains in Yunnan Province, which is also known as "the most beautiful mountain in South Yunnan" Tonghai Xiushan Mountain, national forest parks, the Xinping Mopan Mountain and Yimen Great Dragon Gate, Huaning Xiangbi hot springs.
