By Subway
[edit this]Subway: is the cheapest choice for reaching destinations that are beyond walking range. The service is regular, and efficient. There are 2 lines underground and one elevated line. Several more are under construction, and will be opened progressively, so check for the latest details.
Tickets are cheap. You purchase a magnetically encoded card with the
appropriate value embedded; this is read at the turnstile entry to a
station, and on exit, when the card is retained by the machine; if you
"overshoot" you simply pay for a "Ticket Upgrade" at your
destination.
Try to avoid the rush hour though, since the masses of people in the subway, especially Line 1, are starting to rival Tokyo!
